All About Galaxies

🌌 What Is A Galaxy? A galaxy is a huge group of stars, planets, gas, dust, and dark matter held together by gravity. There are billions of galaxy in the universe. Our solar system is part of a galaxy called the Milky Way. 🌠 Types of Galaxies Galaxies are typically classified into four main types: 1. Spiral Galaxies: These are the most familiar-looking galaxies, with beautiful, winding arms that swirl out from a central bulge. The Milky Way is a spiral galaxy. Their structure often suggests ongoing star formation. 2. Elliptical Galaxies: These look more like fuzzy footballs or spheres. They usually contain older stars and less gas, which means less star formation is happening. 3. Irregular Galaxies: As the name suggests, these don’t have a distinct shape. They might look chaotic, often formed from collisions or gravitational interactions with other galaxies. 4. Lenticular Galaxies: Somewhere between elliptical and spiral galaxies, these have a disk like spirals but lack prominent arms...
